Quick girls trip to New York City felt like a dream! It was filled with lots of shopping, eating really good food, and amazing broadway musicals.
The first day we dropped our bags off at the hotel and went straight to Shake Shack and then got a banana pudding from Magnolia’s Bakery… so good. Then we went shopping. The weather was absolutely beautiful while we were there and the city felt alive. For dinner that night we went to Quality Meats. If you are ever in NYC please go there for me. Everything was amazing from the bread they bring to this bacon with peanut butter (believe me I thought that sounded gross too.. but it is unreal). Then that night we saw The Waitress. Sara Bareilles wrote all the music and has is on broadway for 10 weeks. So I had the opportunity to watch her perform, breath taking. I had chills.
The second day in NYC was just as amazing. I woke up to a beautiful view of the city. We shopped in Soho that day and ate at a Mexican restaurant called La Esquina, best corn of all time. We saw the tony winning musical Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Such a unique musical, different than anything I’ve ever seen. Dinner that night was at TAO… oh my. I think it was my favorite place we ate. Get the coconut shrimp and lots of sushi!
If you can’t tell food was a very important part of this trip 😉 Hence why the last day we made sure to get a banana pudding from Magnolia’s, cupcakes from Downtown cupcakes, and cookies from Levain Bakery (ps you can ship these cookies to your home… best Father’s Day gift ever?!). We just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring it all home.
New York will always have a special place in my heart.
