JUICE CLEANSE

I DID IT! I seriously can’t believe it. I survived off of just juice for 3 entire days… I’ve heard so many things about juice cleanses, good and bad, so I decided it was time to try one for myself. I honestly didn’t think I could do it. But I set my mind to it and feel very accomplished. One important thing is I didn’t do the cleanse to lose weight, for me it was something to shock my body and get it back to the basics so that after the cleanse I could focus on healthy eating and help gain some portion control. I did lose 6lbs, but now the goal is to keep off the weight while still eating food.

I bought a 3 day juice cleanse from Pressed Juicery. It came with 6 juices for each day. Honestly, I’m not good with juices so was really scared. I didn’t think they tasted awful, but they weren’t my favorite (I plugged my nose each time I drank them… didn’t really help though lol). By day three I was use to the tastes and just kind of chugged them and got it over with. As for how I felt… hungry. Hungry and pretty weak. But even though I felt hungry I wasn’t craving food and definitely not craving sugar and candy. I was hungry but not starving. The drinks did fill me up. Day one really wasn’t too bad and if I kept myself occupied I would forget about it. Day two was the hardest. Day three it almost felt normal not to eat. It really wasn’t too bad until after the drink 4, that’s when I would get little headaches and just want to go to sleep. It was interesting though, I felt like I had so much more time in the day not worrying about when and what to eat. I just would drink a juice and keep on going.

As for excercise, that was kept at a minimum. I did an abb workout on Tuesday, one of the reasons I think Tuesday was the hardest day. I walked on the treadmill on Wednesday which was more doable.

Would I ever do this again? Probably not. Maybe after the holidays if I felt like I need to get back to basics again. But I would not make this a regular thing. I love food too much lol 😉 Like I said at the beginning it was something I wanted to try for myself, and now I can say I’ve done it. Would I recommend it… It really depends on the person, I think it tests your body and helps you focus on what you are putting into your body, but not sure if it’s essential for everyone to try.
